Take pictures, THEN focus, is the purpose of this technology. Although not new, Apple is not only trying to develop their own version of the light field focusing tech, but an adjustable resolution as well. This mean you can take low-resolution images and increase their resolution along with the focal point of the image. This technology is nothing new as already introduced on Lytro cameras advertising a very similar experience.
